I found then lost then found this gold ring. It's a pretty cool looking ring, but when I found it a while ago I thought it was pretty basic costume type ring, and didn't think much of it. I found it a while ago while detecting then brought it home and cleaned it. I must have left it on the counter and it was knocked on the floor because months later my wife showed it to me and said it was almost all the way under the fridge. I looked at it more carefully and saw the 18K mark and realized even though it's not a big fat ring, it is gold and pretty cool. Thanks for Earthworks for the photos. His wife liked it so much that I let her keep it. Does anyone have an idea how old it could be based on the pattern? (That's a black stone in case it looks empty.)

black onyx...NICEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ring, I love it... excellent find

sweet find , good hunting and travels!!!!

Nice 1st gold ring 8)....aa

Really nice looking ring - I'm not an expert at all, but it does look like it would fall in the "antique" category by the style - especially being 18K.

Grats!

Definitely looks a bit art deco to me which would put it in the 1920 to 1939 time period. If art deco, and being 18K, I would bet it could sell on eBay or at auction for $200 to $400. Great find!!!

WOW, way to go! I remember my first! Dont worry theyll be many more. I just hope theyre as nice as that one.!

Crackbadger out!

Bergie,
Congratulations on the gold ring. It does appear to be an antique ring with a piece of black onyx but I'm definitely not a jewelery expert. It is very nice of you to give away the first gold ring that you found. I did the same thing. My wife does not like yellow gold so when I found a 14K gold ring with 19 small diamonds my mother in law stated she thought it was beautiful. It now resides in her jewelery collection.

Thank you, Bergie, for my beautiful new gold ring. I can't wait to see what other jewelry you guys find. And yes, Gary can go out and play this weekend.
