Arrived in Manistee MI for the holiday but our hotel (the City of Milwaukee) wasn’t ready yet so we stopped at a public beach. The family went for a swim and I decided to detect. Heading away from the parking lot I wasn’t getting any signals until I reach a fire pit and the Nox rang up a 15. I figured it was a pop-top but dug it and was floored when a 14k gold ring popped out! First gold I have dug in my 4 years detecting and it fits my figure! Nice way to start the holiday

Congratulations! I live in Manistee and thats a rarity on our beaches.

We were only there for about an hour but I saw 3 other people detecting the beach during that time. First time to Manistee so it’s al new to me. I won’t have a chance to detect it but that wooded corner of Red Szymarek Park on the way to fifth avenue beach looked interesting.
