Well I went to a tucked away park I found recently. I was'nt sure of the age of the park so I figured, just do it. The grass is high now but the shadow was still finding the clad. I found I was digging way to many old style pulltabs, but it also told me the age was at least 60's - 70's. Then I popped a wheatie. Good sign for silver. After three or four wheaties I dug a 1950 quarter. Now I'm pyshed. 15 minutes later a 1946 dime. Prior to finding those I decided I would only dig the signals that would pass with coin check. Plenty of time to dig it all on other hunts there. I'm digging this deep sounding signal when my wife calls. Talk with her some and back to recovering the target. I'd say close to 9" down I see a big coin edge that at first looked like a large cent or copper.Pull it out and it's a 1921 Morgan silver dollar! Man was I talking to myself out there. What a rush. After that I got one more silver dime 1947-D. Also a 1941 nickel. Not too shabby a 4 silver coin day. Was out there probably over 3 hours when some people showed up to play baseball.
I can't wait to hit it after the grass is mowed. I've been using my White's Classic II for 11 years now, but I must say the X2 is now my main detector.

Wow mike.....must have felt good to pull that out of the hole...how did you clean her up? ...looks real nice..Congrats
Yes it definitely felt great.I cleaned em with a wet baking soda finger rub. That usually works pretty good on my silver.

Works great for common date 90% stuff, but I wouldn't do it with a rarer coin! Excellent finds by the way!!! Parks in my neck of the woods have been pounded to death.

Cheers,

Buckleboy

Super Day Mike - Congrats, and I would have done the same with that dollar, baking soda makes them pretty for YOU to enjoy looking at. :)

Thanks for the advice Buckleboy. I only do the baking soda on the commons. Been doing it for years. Unfortunately, I have'nt found that rare coin to have to worry about it yet. Some day.

Fantastic find Mike. Congrats. BTW, where did you get the X2? I traded one in on an X3 last summer. Could be the same one I had.

Hey Bob. I got this one from one of my detecting partners. He kept it in his trunk as a spare for those spur of the moment hunts. They both have Shadow X5's now, so in order for us to call ourselves team shadow I had to have one. ;D He gave me a great deal on it.
