Not really a 'Todays find' but there isn't a catergory called 'stupid questions'!

Why is it that so many of us detect & fish?

I wonder how many of you out there are Sagittarius?

Just interested.

My kinda post. I love fishing, been fishing since I was a kid and never stopped. I put alot of hours into fishing this past season and came through with some nice Largemouths straight out of New York City lakes. (LM Bass is all I'm after). Few people would believe that there is good LM Bass fishing right here in the Bronx or Manhattan. Don't know how this MD'ing is going to affect fishing next year though. Jan. Aquarius. Here's a pic of one of my better fish this season............

Sept. 23rd....LOVE fishing, dump picking (fortunate enough to have one right on my property) and of course MDing.
Unfortunately, unless I leave home (fridgid NH) I won't be doing much more of any of that till spring. It's 10* and the snow covered ground is frozen. I stay up nights dreaming of where to go in the spring! My mom has been begging me to come visit her in FL.....possibilities!
I'll keep reading the posts you guys write on on the wonderful finds over the winter months but not posting any of my own.

Dug - Handsome fella.. er...uh... fish! It's huge! I'm never swimming again! Or fishing from a kayak for that matter. A 4lbs bass will pull the kayak along. Imagine the ride that thing would give ya! I'm hoping they don't get that big in the Ottawa river. EEEKKK!
By the way, what did you do with it? Was it still alive when your friend posed with his hand in its mouth?

As a specimen hunter, all my fish go back, for others to enjoy. It was still alive but they have crushing pads no teeth. He also has a glove on.
This fish was caught on a rod called the "Ball Crusher" & it dragged me, the boat & 2 anchors for 200 yards.

I will return there for the 200lb fish.

Well I used to go fishing with my dad, and I used to fish, but then darn it, I found this neat hobby, metal detecting.

If you want the best of both worlds, buy a water detecting machine. I have a buddy who lives to fish, that is until he bought his first detector. Now he says if the fish aren't bitting, he goes detecting. He carries his detector with him in the boat!

Aquarius here, Hope you have a Great Detecting New Year and Fishing also. LOL

Libra, and I fish. I own a boat, but usually don't use it. I fish for large fish. I get really excited over carp and catfish. But I also fish for largemouths and northerns. Lake Frederick, near me, is known for it's big Bass. I caught a 7, 5 and 3 pounder on the same day this past summer.

Not quite.
I took years to build the trust of the local farmers & now have about 12 different farms. The holiday was dead cheap, included B&B, 5 days on the boat, all the tackle & bait included. I said I'm not money motivated. If I sold all my stuff I could go on hundreds of holidays!

Great place to visit & fish (although I couldn't afford to fish there). My whole Spain trip would only get me 1 day on the Salmon rivers. Don't know about the detecting, but having seen some of the posts here, must be pretty good.

2007 - really looking forward to harvest this year, I can feel something good. Saxon I hope.

I love to fish too! Besides MD'ing it was what my Dad and I would when I was a kid. We had a lease on some river property and my Dad and Grandpa built a camp....we would go to the camp every weekend and during the summer we'd spend a couple of weeks there at a time. I haven't been fishing in a while, but enjoy pretty much any type of fishing imaginable. Oh and I'm Cancer (July 14th)

Nice fish!! I've heard about some of those "ponds" in the city. I'm holding one of the Mohawk Rivers (Erie Canal) finest.

I fish 20+ tournaments a year and I'm always scanning the shoreline for treasure. Got a nice new volleyball last time out. 8)

I've been known to catch a few Ohio bass
BTW, I'm a Cancer/Gemini cusper

Metal detecting is a LOT like fishing, except in detecting, the formula is C+L+P=S

My dog Growly loves the water

My biggest Ohio bass so far...close to 8 lbs

My son Spencer and a bass he caught when he was 5
