Not really a 'Todays find' but there isn't a catergory called 'stupid questions'!

Why is it that so many of us detect & fish?

I wonder how many of you out there are Sagittarius?

Just interested.

I've been known to catch a few Ohio bass
BTW, I'm a Cancer/Gemini cusper

Metal detecting is a LOT like fishing, except in detecting, the formula is C+L+P=S

My dog Growly loves the water


My biggest Ohio bass so far...close to 8 lbs


My son Spencer and a bass he caught when he was 5

Nice Fish.
Also good to see the little one beeming with joy. Thats what its about being out there!

I am standing in the spillway of a man made pond, erosion has given the dam a strange look, but its only 35 or 40 years old.

I'm ready to sell all my fly fishing gear to upgrade to an XLT or DFX. Don't know if I want to part with my LL Bean Gore tex waders though, may come in handy MDing.

I'm a virgo 08/29 I think it's the random positive reinforcement of both addictions that keeps us hooked You never know what you catch or find. When you do both activities. Try bring you detector with you to your fishiong spots. There are always places to check out around rivers ( excellent for bottles too !) At the lakes check out the play/picnic areas. I found my first gold /diamond ring when the walleye (like a Zander in your part of the world dug em up ) fishing was slow. never enough time for either addiction is there

Leo on the cusp of Virgo and love to hunt anything from elk to gold...And that includes fishing. I mean we ARE hunting for fish....right?
If these rains keep up I will be fishing in my yard soon...I sure ain't swinging my detector!

I've been fishing since I was knee high to a duck. Fishing is a topic that I could show you pics and tell you some fish tales. Who says you can't fish & MD at the same time? Next fishing trip to Grand Isle, I will fish awhile if the are fish not biting, I will venture off to a barrier island to detect. Just wish my MDing was as good as my fishing.

I FISH BETTER THEN I MD, DO 1-2 TRNYS PER MONTH, BUT ONLY GET OUT TO MD ONCE PER QUARTER, SO FAR JUST JUNK WITH THE MD, BUT A 9LB BASS WITH THE FISHING. NOW IF I COULD FIND A 9 POUND NUGGET I MIGHT GIVE UP FISHING ALTOGETHER

Couldn't help but add a fish picture. This is my take when the Walleye limit on Lake Erie was 10. Nate is in the picture. He likes fishing but would rather go metal detecting.

Yes, it's a Jack Cravelle...about a 45 minute fight with him. Catch & release. Here's the same fish with me trying to pick him up for a better pic. That candid shot won the "Louisiana Sportsman" monthly contest.

Nice Carp. I too am a Carp fisherman, pike in the winter. They both take huge amounts of TIME.
