Found 1945P.........A war nickle........my first

Went into a gas station on my way to work today, needed a pack of smokes. On the way back to my car I saw a nickle on the tarmac, picked it up and it didn't feel like a nickle. My eyes aren't so good and I couldn't quite read the date, so when I got home tonight I got out the magnifying glass and lo and behold a 1945P, war nickle. This is the first one I've ever had.

I'm glad that you can still find those in circulation a lot easier than finding the pre 1964 silvers.
I dug a 42-P recently. But have found quite a few in pocket change in the past.

The first coin my 10 year old son with his 40 dollar detector was a 1943 S series (I think it was) at a local park. I have NEVER found one with my Whites XLT. Great find.

Was it at a Wesco? I'm just asking because almost EVERY time that I gas up at Wesco in Montague on my way to work I find either a penny or a nickel while I'm pumping gas.

I figured it would be an eyeball find since there's still a bit of white stuff back home. At least I'll be coming back home right when the nice detecting weather gets going.
