We were at some friends house over the weekend in Greensboro, N.C. For funzies I broke out the md and in about 2 minutes had found 2 wheaties and a really clean '39 merc. We'd all been to Ham's Restaurant about 15 minutes before and the wives had gotten a little cocktail each, so my wife was getting all sentimental over everything (she don't drink very often). They were all standing there when I popped the coins out of the ground and my wife says "Awww, those probably belonged to (the lady that lived in the house) your grandmother, give those to her to give to her dad, he'd get a kick out of it, awwwww.
Easy come easy go. Give the 12 cents to millionaires, they need it. I felt like telling my wife to tend to her own knitting, but I just handed them over with a smile.
The upside was, they are going to take me to old properties all over Greensboro next time we are up that family members own, and I get to keep everything I find at them. They also turned me on to an elementary school about 2 blocks from their house that's been active since 1920 and nobody ever hunts it.
So it sort of balances things.
I wanted that '39 MERC!
