New at this, have found a few "artifacts" but this one is pecking at me to get a second opinion. It appears to be a cat head :) IMG_0518.webpIMG_0523.webp

Also found this rock that could be some type of old pestle? Its really interesting because upon cleaning it up I found old paint remnants; blue, red, orange, black, white, and a speck of green Are visible, any help discerning the authenticity or any tips to help in the field are greatly appreciated :)IMG_0502.webpIMG_0506.webpIMG_0504.webp

Views from different angles theres clear thumb divots making it vet comfortable to hold from quite a few angles. Thanks for any help guys :) I'll be posting more in the future.

Your username fits you you well!

It's a rock. No amount of the finest green in the land will change that.

Yeah, just rocks I'm afraid. Keep on keeping on and the best of luck.

Welcome aboard - good ole mother nature can play some tricks on the eyes :icon_thumright:

There's a reason the descriptor "stoned" is used. Those are, indeed, stones.

Even stoned they still look like rocks:headbang:

Now that’s funny right there!!!

Welcome to tnet from Niagara Falls.

I can hardly wait...

Does anyone else see a poodle in the second photo?

Look at artifacts that others have found and you will know what to look for, welcome to tnet and don't be discouraged.

1st - I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard Verystoned! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country). You might also consider adding your state (or country) to your displayed profile (SETTINGS -> EDIT PROFILE) - members may have more success helping you (your location may help, etc.)...

2nd - Just in case your finds aren't Indian Artifacts - you might consider posting this request over at Sub-Forum: Geological > Rocks/Gems for more exposure.

Don’t let them get to you, think for yourself and use your own eyes.
