found a dead woman tonight.....UPDATED

yes you read that right .

I was out detecting tonight in a park / playground an found this woman .I wont go into alot of details , I'll just say I was detecting this park like normal it was around midnight an had detected it an was on my way to leaving when I noticed a pair of shoes up inside the mouth of one of those tube slides that is all twisty , I yelled into the tube no response , beat on the tube no respone , shook the foot with the detector no resonse .

long story short , yes I did call 911 , yes the cops did show up an took care of the scene an took my statement an all of my info.then released me an said go home .

this was a first for me metal detecting an I pray my last , this is not something that I ever wanted to find , I dont know anything about this person other than what I have told you here ,I'm not a religous person but I hope she RIP an her family dont have to suffer threw this .

good morning folks , Well I just got off the phone with the police they had some questions for me , the same ones as last night but what the hey , why where you there ....etc .
The cop I spoke with couldnt go into alot of detail , but told me the young lady was in her early 20's an it looks like an Overdose , they think she either climed up in the tube to get out of the wind or to stay outa veiw while she enjoyed her buzz before she expired.

hey "tank69" glad to know you are feeling better. it just stops and makes me think how "precious" life really is. every time i go out detecting i am injoying life, but what you had to find, makes me think we could be gone in the blink of the eye. im glad to know it's not stoping you from going back to the same park next time you go i hope you find something nice and shiny that reads 1800. I vote banner man! JK! That's gotta be scary though... Why do you detect around midnight? Especially when you're unalert with earphones on. You could get jumped or something. And judging by you would a dead lady OD'd, doesn't sound like it's a great area? You may want to rething going out so late? HH!

Wow, reminds me of the time that I too found a dead woman! She had been stabbed over 30 times, was as white as a ghost, and bloated. When I went near her I could see the eyes, and knew she was real. I ran down the mountain to tell my folks, and they didn't believe me. Finally one of my uncles decided to take a walk and persuaded my dad to come along (he was a doctor). Needless to say she was real, and within minutes there were helicopters, and police everywhere after we called them up. I even had to appear at the trial.....and yes, they caught the person responsible for it. Since then, I presume that someday there just might be a few bones sticking out of those old shoes, or shirt, or whatever it is thats laying around out in the woods.......HH M

what a shock that must have been an even bigger shock is no one said anything about a banner find just kidding i will stick with silver and gold lol

I don't intend to make a Banner nomination, but I'm shocked that nobody has asked for the obvious - pictures! On the serious side, that had to be an incredibly sobering experience, and one that I hope I'm never a part of. I worked for years in an adult care facility and can recall several cases of residents being found dead in their beds; even a discovery like that (which sounds like the ideal way to go, by the way) would be disturbing!

I know all to well about the nightmares. I have experienced something so incredibly terrible that you couldn't even use your imagination as to how bad it was. Its true what they say, it does get better with time but what they don't say is during that time its like living in hell. What happened to me was really really really bad and I am not going to tell my story so don't even ask.

while there is much beauty in life --there is some stuff that is down right sad, twisted , ugly and wicked -- and it can scar your mind deeply seeing and dealing with it and the effects of dealing with it can linger a long long time -- sometimes the rest of your life.

those have dealt with it know exactly what I mean --those that do not be thankful that you do not "understand" of what I speak of.

may the poor girl who OD ed find peace at last . --- living a tormented drug or alcohol addicted type of existance is a sad and lonely thing ro deal with.
