Today I nearly had a heart attack when a diamond ring popped out of the ground at 1 inch...got them tested, and they aren't real. It was EXCITEMENT anyway...I almost found more nickels than quarters for the first time ever, so I think I am on the right track. I also found my first Italian Lire. It is separated out from the rest of the coins in the picture. I couldn't get it to clean up any more than what you see. I need to buy a tumbler!

Thanks, Digger! I used to live up in Springfield, MO, years ago. How is the hunting there?

R&B, Great ring and if you are digging nickles, you will eventually find the gold jewelry. What was the VDI on your Garrett Ace 400 for that sterling ring, if I may ask? I suspect it was around 86-88? BTW, Digger RJ has me and other avid diggers to compete with in Springfield, it is a very productive area still...LOL! Happy Hunting and congrats on the loot. Sub 8-)

That is a nice looking ring R&B. I see real diamonds in your future !

Thanks, Sub. It rang up 57-61 on my VDI, which made me think it was gold, not silver. Digging nickels so much is sharpening me to get ready for the big stuff, I hope!! I used to work for St. John's hospital when I lived in Springfield....Headed back out to the site today, I am crossing my fingers! GL and HH!

Congratulations a ring is a ring, some just sparkle a little more but every one you find gets the heart pumping a little faster...good for your health......

R&B , I'm amazed that you can still hunt if you are in the greater Denver area - here in Santa fe the ground is well frozen ! Nice ring - keep digging pull tab/ nickel signels - you'll get some gold !

Well Done!

Big engagement ring coming soon!

It's hit and miss, Argentium. Spots near trees or flat fields in the sun are ok to dig. There are places I have given up on because the ground is like trying to slice into an frozen ice cream cake...that is NO fun. We still have some snow on the ground in shady places.

LOl! I am actually planning a beach vacation with my boyfriend. I asked if he would mind if I metal detected while he relaxed on the beach... I want to get an Excalibur II for the beaches, but I won't use it here much in Denver...maybe I could just rent one...
