I'm out on vacation, and I was going to just wait until I got home and settled back in... But it's raining heavy here and I figured I would put this on here now.

This is a dream find and I never thought that I would have ever found one. It is broken in half though, but it is a banner find for me many times over and I will most likely never come up with another piece to one of these again. Especially when you come from Pennsylvania, chances of finding anything close to this in Kentucky is very slim. I can't wait to show this to R.M. Gramly... I am going to post up pictures individually. At first, I wasn't sure what it was. I immediately told my friend what I thought it was, and there was one key characteristic missing from the side showing, so it might not have been... But I told him, maybe the other side...

Here it was, just how I first found it...

I used the silver dime I found yesterday to help... Hope it does

Wow, that is a very cool piece. A lot beefier than I would have expected compared to some of the ones I've seen from other areas in the northern side of their range.

Look at that domed side by the dime, they had the mass to flute it but didn't for some reason. Congrats on a great artifact!

Im late to the party so congrats a fine piece.

Never late! Heck, this artifact is around 14,000 years old and just recovered...:sly:

Congrats!

After fondling it for a week or two, I'd be sending it off on a trip to the doctor in Florida.

Could not agree more if that was my find. JMO

Sending it off to the doctor in Florida? Not sure I know exactly what you guys mean!

It will be visiting with Dr. Gramly as soon as i see him, but I won't send it out... At least I don't think! Haha

Killer, way fewer of those found than Clovis...and much finer IMO.
They are referring to Doc Gomer, has a great rep for restoration.

Finally home, but soon to bed because i need to be at work tomorrow!! Bummer... Just thought that i would put a message out there that i will try to get to posting other finds from my trip this week sometime ... Thanks to all that liked and commented on this very early find! Good luck to everyone out there still getting to scrounge up some artifacts...

That one, the way it is, would be the find of a lifetime. Probably 200 people -- minimum-- have found broken Folsom points for every one that's found even part of a Cumberland point. That old, and that rare.

(You'd never guess that from how many perfect ones have been offered on flea prey !).

I know Florida must have had people there too then. And idea what they made ?

Wow that is sweet. a vary rare find, even broken. congrats

14,000 years ago?! Are there other known sites this old in your area?

Hard to wrap my mind around. Congrats!

Nice, I'm one state west (Ohio) and don't know anyone who has ever found one. One question, what row crop is already green ad 5 " tall in Pa. this time of year? I can't recognize the leaves.

YOW! Beyond cool! Congrats on a special find PaDD !
