I was searching through my neighbors yard (with permission of course) he is selling the house and no longer lives their but my dad knows him pretty well so i was able to ask him if it was cool to search his yard with my MD. He laughed and said sure! I told him if he wants i can give him half of what i find but he didn't give me much credit and just said i can have it all unless its a gold bar lol! also i have to make sure i cover all my holes seeing that he is selling the place. I was their for about 2 hours and found a lot of 90's pennies along with junk. Just as i was getting ready to call it a day due to the cold, my ACE 350 gave out a loud tone near the right side of the garage where there is a small rectangular patch of grass. I honestly dont know why i decided to look their, i guess i figured it something was their i could be a little more "messy" seeing that no one can really see it unless they walk up to it
The 350 said it was 8+ inches deep, i kept digging and digging thinking maybe it was iron or nails bunched up together (that seems to be all i find when i searched my backyard and my friends yards) but nonetheless i cant pass up on a signal like that. My hands were freezing because i was wearing thin gloves that were wet but in the end it was worth it, as i kept digging i found what looked like newspaper or some sort of paper material. My imagination took over and i kept saying gold gold gold gold gold
AND THEN BAM! I took out my pin pointer once i saw the news paper and it found a signal! I ended up digging up a few small coins then Large coins and then LARGER COINS!!!
Holy crap!! I'm still in disbelief, I just got around to cleaning them and they are foreign coins (US,Canadian, British(i think) and Peruvian) and it could be silver, I did a little research and i'm almost positive its all silver. Please if anyone can verify if these are truly silver post here, like i said i'm almost positive they are but i just need reassurance i'm still in shock.
This is only my 3rd week of MDing, man do i wish i took this hobby up in the summer This HAS to be a cache, i mean why else would their be mixed foreign currency right?
PERUVIAN COINS
One of the large ones that looks like it has a tower has a date of 1976 and says "400 SOLES DE ORO"
the second large one is dated 1934 and says "UN SOL" at the bottom while the inscription around it lady sitting says "FIRME Y FELIZ POR LA UNION"
**THESE COINS ARE BIG AND HEAVY I PUT PICTURE IN WITH A HALF DOLLAR TO SHOW HOW BIG IT IS**
The last Peruvian coin is dated 1979 and says "1000 SOLES DE ORO" pretty big but not like the others.
AMERICAN COINS
!!!1911 V NICKEL!!! It's in great condition if you ask me I can really see detail on the back end of it. out of all of them this is my favorite.
1905 Indian head, after some cleaning(water/alcohol/oil) it is in good condition
CANADIAN COIN
Canadian 10 cents dated 1940, i think its silver due to the date. Am i correct? Its a still kinda dirty after cleaning and in the front end it says "GEORGIVS VI D G REX ET IND IMP?"
BRITISH COIN (Possibly)
Dated:1933
reverse side: Three Pence
The only reason i say possibly British is because on the front side it says "GEORGGIVS V D G BRITT OMN REX F.D IND IMP , I assume "Britt" means British and one of my friends says a pence was used in England, but the inscription on the front is similar to the one on the Canadian coin so it could be Canadian possibly. I'm not sure; its the smallest coin of the bunch.
The only reason i say possibly is because i'm just not sure but on the coin it says.
