Hello. After work a co-worker and I went to metal detect around a old cabin in the mountains near our job. I search and searched. Something kept telling me there is a coin here. So after about 2 hours I finally found one. Its a 1900 V nickel. I know its not the oldest or even silver but its my first old coin... I'm very happy to say the least. KIMG0059.webp

Don't downplay that coin. I've been detecting for three years and I've found ZERO V nickels! And any coin over 100 years old is a great find, imo.

Congrats on your oldest coin. It is in very nice shape for a nickel.

V nickels are usually very worn coming out of the ground. Yours looks to be in nice condition. Congrats!

They don't fare too well for sure but yours looks great, congrats on that old coin.

Congratz on your oldest coin! It looks 10x better than either of my Vs.

Great job guy..... Beats the hell out of my horseshoe finds.

Sweet find much better shape than the one i found a few days ago same year too, happy hunting

Finding V nickels is not easy, finding V nickels in that nice of shape is even harder! Nice find!

very nice v. brad

I love v-nicks. Congrats

I've been at it for 5 years and just this year pulled my first silver. Never got anything that old. It's a sweet find. Congrats.

Just found my first v. I think it's an awsome coin. Great find

Congrats on that sweet V nickel. :occasion14: How's the F4 working for you? I used to swing one and enjoyed it. The soil in this part of Ohio is rather mild. Are you used to the falsing? or do you manually GB and hunt in All Metal? By the way most V Nickels I've seen are toast and not as nice as your's. What other items did you did during the hunt? Any cool relics?

Alot of people don't know this but technically the year 1900 was the last year of the 19th century - so congrats - you've not only dug your oldest coin - but also dug your first 19th century coin! You're now in the 19th century club! :treasurechest::thumbsup:

Congratualtions on the V-nickel! :occasion14:

Looks alot better then 99.99% of my Vs . Congrats
