It's part of a cobbler's tool. Not sure if it for new shoes or repairs.

It would be an awful small shoe. It is only 2 1/2 inches wide at the widest point.

Toddlers shoe?

I could be wrong with the ID, the picture and description just seemed to match up fairly well with what you have found.

Yup, a cobblers last. There was a metal post that fastened to the floor and a whole set of different sized lasts that slipped on top of the post.

Thanks for the quick ID guys! So, would the number 2 denote the shoe size?

Update.....I did some checking and the #2 indicates that it is for a child's shoe size 2.

Good ID. I recognized it right away. My Dad had one to repair his own shoes..
