Detector(s) used
Minelab CTX 3030, Minelab E-Trac w/Sunray probe and 15' WoTcoil.
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
I went out yesterday with a buddy who doesn't detect just to explore and show some cool spots around my area. I decided to bring out my detector and just swing as we walked and talked along this old stonewall. This place is pretty dead. I know it's had action since the 1600's but I think it was already detected pretty clean before my time. I got this coin along the old stonewall. I believe it's a Fugio, my first. Shame it's so corroded but two first this past week with this and the Nova. I think I can make out where it says "Mind your business." When it was still dirty my buddy said he thought it had 1787 on it. I went to another spot and pulled a few more things. My second Austrialian Shilling from the same spot I found my other one and lost my Florin love token. A 1907 Indian. That thing with the Swastika on it and that weird thingy at the bottom. No idea what either of them are. Also found 4 flat buttons but they're already in my button box so I didn't take pics. The great thing about it all was after I found the coin my buddy was like, "why don't I have a metal detector." So I had to drive all the way back to the house to get my spare for his first time out. He had trouble, but he had fun.

I dont think that place is cleaned out if you found that stuff along the stone wall which is an obv place to hunt, Maybe the technology at the time it was being hunted ("before your time") was not as advanced as the machine your running. I would spend some more time out there if I was you. HH

The Swatzika symbol stood for "Good Luck",with the Native American's.......not just Hitler

One of the oldest symbols made by humans, the swastika dates back some 6,000 years to rock and cave paintings. To this day it is a sacred symbol in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Odinism. It is a common sight on temples or houses in India or Indonesia. Swastikas also have an ancient history in Europe, appearing on artifacts from pre-Christian European cultures.

CrazySlasher- Nice finds by the way. I see you've found a couple Aussie Schillings. Was the other one holed too?` It's wierd because I found several in an old house once, they had been cut into the shape of a heart and holed on both sides like yours. I wonder why they used Aussie coinage?

Can you read what the lettering is on the "swastika thingy".

The swastika is probably an old trademark logo.

:)

The thing with the Swastika says, "Pat Pend U.S.A.-Sterilized." I never thought it had anything to do with Nazism. I know a lot of companies prior to WW 2 used the swastika as a logo. I just don't know what it is.

diggummup: Yeah, all three Australian coins I've found have been holed. The two shillings and the florin.

I believe the boy scouts used it too

Surely looks like a Fugio. At any rate, a copper is a copper. nice!

Great Finds!
Congrats on the rare Copper  (I feel your Pain :'( )

The thing with the Swastika looks like a canteen spout, so maybe a boy scout canteen ?
Good Stuff
