Well i must say this is my best find so far :hello2:
Went back out to my favorite cellar of all time.. last year we pulled over 120 buttons and relics off this site :icon_thumleft:
This time i brought the 5 inch dd coil
I was sitting here thinking about this site and realized i never hit around the cellar with a small coil :icon_scratch:
So off into the deep woods i went..Right away i started pulling buttons left and right i couldnt believe
what i missed me and my friends have hit this site hard..
Right outside the stairs was a medium sized tree i found a Largie next to last time :icon_thumleft:
I was scraping the leaves away and hit real close to the tree and locked on a solid 79-80..
When i flipped it out i thought it was a foreign coin because i could see writing along the edge but was like wow this is a big coin :icon_scratch:
Then i brushed the dirt and seen the word "President" and immediatelly knew :o
My heart was in my stomach and i paced in circles looking at it :headbang:
It does have some damage and is missing the shank but hey,im stoked 8)
I included some finds from this site last year
After all the people i took here i am so glad i found it
This is why we do what we do

Blaze

Hey Johnny B.
Sorry I missed this, (46 Posts later) Glad you found what you were looking for. Well that's for one, there are a lot more things that when popped, will be on the top of the list too, but a GWB is a good one.

Excellent GW button, excellent finds & excellent colonial site! Some of my sites have continued to produce for three or fours years. I was wondering if there are woods surrounding your cellar? If there are, i would certainly start moving out into the surrounding area(s) for as far as I could go.
Great old stuff! The GW button is high on my wish list of things I would like to dig. That's a banner find all day long. You got my vote. Congrats! DD.

They are out there it seems they are always found at the abandoned colonial cellars

One is coming your way Dave

Just got back from a trip J.B. and I see you made a SUPER recovery. In the NE, that is the holy grail for a relic hunter. Congrats and you earned that one with a lot ot of time in the field hunting. HH, Quindy.

Wow :tongue3: :headbang: :notworthy: :headbang: :notworthy: Banner !!!

That is an AMAZING gorgeous historic button there! Banner vote from me!

BTW, what are the oval thingies with the two holes in them? Found one at an older site, never knew what it was.

Nice finds JB. I'm still learning the T2. I've not used the 5" coil yet, but hope to soon. I have an old foundation in the mountains behind my home I'm anxious to try, but want to wait until after deer season. ::)

Congrats on the finds and especially the GW button, you are on a hot site! HH, Mike

Welcome to the club JB! Nicely done!
