This week I received my new Deus 2 and decided to try it out on a recently acquired 250+ acre permission along a colonial-present road. Started the day walking towards what I thought was the original home site and found a few flat buttons along the way. The Deus 2 performed amazingly! At the home site I found a piece of a shoe buckle, and quite a few household trinkets. THEN it happened! Button signal... and out pops something square.. As I begin to clean it with a toothbrush, I catch a glimpse of an eagle wing. Needless to say I was freaking out by this point... George Washington's Inaugural symbol but it appears to be on a watch winder, instead of a button. I still can't believe it! Thanks for reading and I hope you are as in love as I am! Happy hunting!

Incredible find! I’d be hunting those fields for years to come. I foresee several coppers being unearthed in your future. Good luck!

Great find
First one of those that I've seen. Hopefully further research will reveal whether those were issued to commemorate the inauguration, or if is a patriotic watch winder that borrowed the motif from the button.

Thanks everyone for your kind words and shared excitement, planning on contacting Mount Vernon today to chat with one of their historians. Maybe They will have some insight.
