Hello
It has been a good week, shown are the finds from my last couple hunts on post. All finds were on base with the XLT.
OPERATION BASEBALL FIELD: The on post Parks and Rec people needed my help. They were trying to get the baseball field ready for the junior season, one problem. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd base attachment points were buried, location unknown. They asked me to help,no problem, thinking I had to find 3 buried rectangular pipes that attach to the bases. Once I started detecting I got a surprise, I found 16 attachment tubes/ stakes between the three bases. Seems that thru the years they just added more attachments. Well the Parks guy is happy, and I get to hunt their areas without any issues.
Okay, back to the finds, alot of clad and nice silver. However my favorite is the German Identification Tag for a soldier, from a unit that disbanded in 1918 after the war.
Top -Bottom on the Tag
Name
Birthplace/Hometown
Birth date (that's 1895)
Unit, 5th Infantry, right here on the bases
Local historian has made a scan and he send the info to Berlin, for any next of kin. This tag was probably just lost on post.
NOTABLES:
ID Tag
2ea Silver Dimes
Silver Rings
1950 Swedish coin
Irish and British coins
Over 10 Euro in Clad== that's about $17
Unit crests
I'm also including the thrash tray.
HH
The goods, about 10 hours of time

Close up of the ID tag and some older German coins on the bottom, foreign coins on the left

Coins flipped

Silver dimes, rings and pendants, also a old field fork and spoon set

More lead horsemen, ammo and clad

You want treasure, well you have to dig some (alot) of trash.
