glass???need help

found in new york state not sure what it is though i was told glass but it has the looks of amber with a blue haze when held up to a light you dont see the blue haze just amber color.

Is it light in weight or heavy? One way to test is in salt water. mix about 1 part salt to 2 parts water and dissolve the salt completely. Drop the piece in and if it floats it could be amber. If it sinks then maybe slag glass.

I'd guess glass. However, try heating a needle (hold it with pliers?) and push it against the suspect specimen of amber. It'll smell nicely if it is true amber.

It looks almost like labradorite. Amber is pretty lightweight, if its cold to the touch and heavy its probably not amber.
