Metal Detecting
I went back this morning to a schoolyard that I was at the day before but had to leave because it got to hot to detect. My first signal was a zinc penny. The second dig, a dime. Then on my 3rd I get a hard nickel hit. The F2 says it is about 2 inches down. I figure this is an easy nickel. I plunge my digger into the soil just deep enough to pull back the grass when out pops this. I almost had a heart attack. One large stone and 8 baguettes.

I think I might have secured a spot in the gold and diamond club. Taking it to the jeweler tomorrow.

That is a stunner of a ring, got a lucky lady in mind or some upgrades?

I am lucky that my wife hates gold. She is a silver gal. I may sell it. Not sure where I would get the most for it. Anyone here sell their jewelry finds?

Great find! 1 carat stone is one nice rock.

Sorry to report but the diamonds in this ring were CZ's. S**t! The gold was real, but the stones weren't. Had it tested again by a reputable jeweler. Sorry for the false alarm.

I thought I was the only one that had a wife that hates gold...you can get off with the silver until they discover platnum then your screwed...lol.

Congrats on the gold ring...sorry about the stones but still a nice find.

Awesome ring. I have several cheap ring finds but nothing gold or diamond.

That's sure a looker! Congrats!
You got the gold your still in the running!
That's one of the reasons I have a tendency to not believe what I'm seeing and throw it in the goodie bag and keep hunting.
There for a while you had a gold and diamond ring!

I can't seem to find that combo...yet.

Me either, I went to a reputable jeweler today and they said the stones were CZ's. I guess I have to keep digging. Sorry for the false alarm.

Thanks for the up date...some people wouldn't have told they made a mistake...your a stand up guy in my book...you still found a great gold ring...congrats.

Looking forward to the outcome! Congrats!

Did you tell the jeweler you found it? There are a lot of shady guys that will tell you it's fake so you'll leave it or sell it to them for the gold! Did the first guy test it?

Great find anyway..you still found gold!

I had two test it. The second one ran the tests in front of me.

Sounds like you have a 50/50 chance of it being real , amazon has quality diamond testers for 10- 15 - dollars , well worth the money . I am not saying the second jeweler did this , but he could have , there is a rheostat thumbscrew knob that if not adjusted to the proper sensitivity will register as not diamond , either way it's an awesome find , I still have hope that your stone is real ( it's the right size to be a nice diamond engagement ring, rather than a huge 2 or 3 carat stone which would be more likely to be CZ)

its still a super nice find.. I know your disappointed that the stones aren't real, but hey, least its real gold. either way, its very very nice and super pretty too. I hope your next one is a biggie and real.

Me too!
