I decided to hunt a party spot on the lake today here in Southwest Georgia. The water level is low and a lot of the beach is now exposed. About the fourth target in , I pulled something I didn't think I'd ever dig. I've been metal detecting since 1977 and have found several gold rings but never a gold coin. That changed this morning! I hunted for the chain but, was unable to locate it.

Is it Bullion? Rather than a coin? I think a coin needs to be legal tender, some time in it's life.
Congrats on a first! I've never had a bullion 'coin' before, so still on my list.
I think you are correct about it being bullion. Thank you.

$10.00 Quarter-Ounce Gold Bullion Coin? Unbelievable! Man whoever lost that was bummed out for a while. Maybe still. Congratulations to you on a rare find!
I bet they were bummed out too. That's why I don't wear jewelry to the water. This is a party spot on the lake so, I feel rather sure some beer and horse play helped in it being lost.

Congratulations on BANNER #4 GaRebel! :occasion14:

What do you plan to do with it now?
Dave
The wife took a big liking to it so, I'll be sending it to the jeweler for a gold chain. It will probably be in her Christmas stocking this year.
