Gold of The Dual Field - One Month's Worth

Hope this doesn't jinx me ... but I had to do a family portrait of my Dual Field's Gold successes..about 48.44 grams total.

I DO Love my Dual Field!

Hi Hamid...No, I am not a master...yet. I think my machine is something special! I bought a used White's Dual Field with a special modification...maybe it's the mod...maybe just a hot machine..but for sure it is amazing me!

Looking good there Joe

Great month and some nice finds. Do you dig a lot of iron or can you tell from the tone what it is? All the Florida beaches I hunt are loaded with iron.

I also have the older Surfmaster PI ...the model just before the PI Pro ...and I cut my teeth on that machine and fell in love with it. I could actually tell the coin denominations from the tones...crown caps were easy...bobby pins also very easy. It had a bad calibration because it ignored all gold under 2 grams but I found lots of gold over 2 grams.

My new Dual Field is just different enough that I'm still learning the tones and consequently digging a lot of iron. I'm only at 50% recognizing bobby pins...sometimes they sound so good. On my best days I usually dig about an equal amount of trash and keepers. Today though...no gold and my trash exceeded keepers by at least 400%. Still..it was a beauty of a day...93 degrees at home...maybe 85 at the beach. I got tuckered out but it was a good tuckered...and I know there will be gold in my scoop again..one of these days... and I really wonder what it will look like!

Congratulations! Sure brings a smile to your face, don't it?! :occasion14:

Thanks for the info...good luck out there.

Joe,

Good haul on the gold.....I notice 3 lightweight ones in the mix.....not the easiest targets to pick out.

Regards + HH

Great finds! The Dual Field worth it!

I bought a used one,in mint condition like new. I go to my first hunt today. I am so excited!

It will be test a small lake beach, dead hunted over the years, lot of iron everywhere.

I hope I'm not crazy. :P

Great haul, must be more to the story. I know Cal got a lot of rain and coastal storms so are they contributing factors? Large beach cuts? Can't believe you can maintain that count...if you can I'm ready to join you in California.

Congratulations on the nice finds. Something is running good. Maybe both Man & Machine.
