Gold ring with amethyst

Went out for a short dig tonight and I found another gold ring! Not long ago I found my first real marked gold ring, but I returned it to its owner. No initials inside this one, so I guess it's mine. This time it's a man's ring with a big amethyst, and purple is my fav colour. I'm really starting to love those mid 50's signals that's for sure.

Edit: I see there is question as to sex of the ring. Considering the small sizing in relation to a coin, I'm inclined to think it's not a mens ring.

It still looks more like a mans ring to me with the pounded looking gold on either side of the amethyst, the style and by the size of the ring face. Not all men have large fingers. Think of it as a uni-sex ring then.
