Got out Saturday and Sunday with Hangtowndiggins. Got a bit of shine and some great memories! Hangtowndiggins is one hell of a great guy. He finds good spots to dig, helps carry my gear and brings me lunch! Thanks again buddy! Enjoy the photos!

Not a prob AU, happy to help! Those fiberglass shovel handles don't last long! Glad you enjoyed the 36" prospector, was doing zero good sitting in the truck, happy you got it in the water and got some gold :occasion14:

Beautiful shot AU! I did a bit of work on it in Lightroom,
and tried to sharpen it up just a bit along with the colors:

Hangtown, the image files you are uploading are quite large
(2MB+), and it could be that you'll need to reduce them a bit
and then they *might* come out straight. :dontknow:

Takes me about 2 sec. to turn them upright using just the
Office Picture Manager, so no worries, I'm always glad to help.

FWIW, I used to process digital images for a number of photographers
(mostly family portrait stuff), and still get a lot of enjoyment out
of taking an average pic (quality wise) and making it much
better with a bit of the "digital golden wand". It's as much art
as it is science, but it keeps me off the streets and out of the
bars.... :occasion14:

If we're lucky it'll be about mid-June here, if not, maybe August..lol

We're in the same cold snap you're in right now. So, who knows.

Traditionally, as the old joke goes, we get 8 months of winter, and 4 months of late fall!

Lots of exposed slate bedrock on this seasonal creek in natural riffle form to get after. On our to do list is wait for water levels to go way down and clean it out! We hope to report back with cracks full of gold before long...

Dizzy thank you much for the help! Only Internet I have at home in the sticks is on my iPhone so not much to work with but far better than nothing. Pics used to post right side up and all of a sudden, sideways every time :icon_scratch:

Tried and tried to fix but no luck, was testing my patience to the point i had to give up lol. Awesome photo editing skills I must say! I can definitely see the difference from before and after sounds like art and science for sure (I suck at both), nice work! Always good to have enjoyable interests to keep us busy. FAMILY and gettin after GOLD with GREAT FRIENDS keeps my free time full and makes me a happy guy..Thanks again Dizzy :occasion14:

Hey guys if you "drove" down where I think you did vs. the turnout ant slip in slide down.....you should go downstream a few hundred feet from where it looks like you are at. There is a set of small falls made of bedrock with a low pressure area and good bench material right on that slate. You are right about the water level. Try to hit the margin of the creek where you can tell the high water has left material. look for a rusty clay layer, thats how you can find the older material. when we dredge that creek a mile further down we got way more gold from the edges and cleaning shallow bedrock than we did from the instream cracks and gravel. I worked that area for an entire summer five days a week and we did really well.
