Buffet (not Jimmy) was the first thing that came to mind. Can't imagine actually using it to pan.

whatever works! a guy I used to work with used a tin pie plate to pan his gold! it worked for him!

There,s a bulgarian dredger in papua,Lubo Todorov. He started in Australia,then moved to New zealand and finally got to Papua.He made serious gold.
He has a very good reputation amongst the nz dredgers. Some videos for you in case you don,t know him ,with english subtitles for our t-net friends. (in first vid ,gold around 38 min)
