The strange trail ends about 20 feet below the ridge just above it. If the trail is man-made, something of value must have been worth the effort to build it. For a quick look at something that might have been of interest below the ridge, a rope would have been sufficient.
The third image again shows the "stonework" anomaly on the floor of the ridge. Peters Trail is nearby to the west, but probably not close enough to draw the attention of casual hikers, nor would they have any chance of seeing the "strange trail."
