Google, Rumsey and the big red X

hey gang,
I was looking at my google earth and there was a star symbol for the Rumsey maps ( which I overlaid quickly ). But when it looked there were these big red x's... Anyone know what this means

On all my treasure maps an x denotes were the treasure is. Start digging!

If its real and not something you made up maybe it denotes a military base. Sometimes they will not let you see certain areas. That goes for everything including the topographical maps.

I think it means that area couldn't be loaded and therefore given a X.

Just like terra server I you do not subscribe they put x's on the map so you cannot see the whole picture and/or print it.
