Got A Rock you Want Identified? Post it here! gimme a good picture or 3 or 4!

Hello, so excited I found this website. I have a "rock" that was found in the Bisti Badlands of New Mexico about 5 years ago. I "believe" it is from a volcano but wanted to ask someone with experience. Thank you in advance for your assistance!! Photo1.jpgPhoto2.jpgPhoto3.jpg

Mother lode?

I am a complete newb but I think I may have something. This "rock" was found while digging on family property in Tuolumne County, CA. Any insight appreciated!

Quartz with sulphides.

Found in central valley California. It has a green color that doesn't show up well in picIMG_20170924_161248.jpgIMG_20170924_161238.jpg???

Volcanic Rock?

Volcanic rock is less likely, however slag is also a strong candidate.
Kind of uncertain.

Thank you for your response. I thought of slag as well but I am not sure how a piece of that would make it out into the middle of the desert.

Can u help me please

Does this look like it could be jade i found it while i was in the woods and i thought it would be a neat rock to break open and see the inside and it ended up being completely green inside and its transparent when i hold a light behins it and it was extremely hard to break apart i actually couldnt do it myself i had help loll also i tried the scratchTest and its not able to be scratched.. please let me know what u think :)

I'm not really a rock hunter I like metal preferably gold but am happy with anything not rusty. But....this rock is so unusual (for my property in central Georgia) I just am really curious as to what it is.0926170812a-1.jpg0926170812c-1.jpg
