Thanks for that link. Some of the examples do have a strong resemblance. Is anyone aware if basalt is a common material for plummets?
They used what was handy a nice piece shaped by water and finished by man.
 

That really is a pretty material and shape. You've got a good eye to find what you can amid ages of debris! Congrats!
