Got out for a few hour hunt with a friend on his permission. 1st target was the eagle button (dont see any back marks) second target was the liberty cap after digging it i checked the hole and got a another target. Out came the capped bust date on that is 1812. I checked the hole a third time and pulled the Hibernia out date is 174? Will try more to get dates. I couldnt belive all 3 coins in the same hole with so many years between them. After about 4 feet i dug another signal and got the 1816 largie. Think im going to owe him a hunt. Thanks for looking. Still trying to get the date on the cap liberty 20180304_155512.webp20180304_155806.webp20180304_155551.webp

You got Classic Head, Liberty Cap and Matron Head large cents, all in one hunt. That's an LC trifecta sir!

Very well done, congrats.

Thanks for sharing that was a great find.

An 1812 Capped bust? You mean to say Liberty cap right? They are pre 1797 i thought..Nice digs for sure..I wonder why we don't see any Mass people digging those 1600 coins and relics?

Amazing finds from a single hole. Wow, quite a nice friend you have there. Perhaps you can do his laundry for a month or two? :laughing7:

I think Classic Head is the term for that Large cent (1809 - 15 i think ) not to be confused with the Capped Bust silvers which ran from around 1809 - to @ mid 1830's .

Nice. I dug a KG III Hibernia yesterday myself. Still looking for my first Liberty cap LC

I see you mentioned the Liberty cap now that is a sweet rare find..They can be valuable depending on the variety i sold a smoked one for 75.00 on auction at ebay.
