GULF SHORES/ORANGE BEACH, AL. BEACHES

Has anyone had any experience hunting saltwater beaches with a Garrett GTI2500? Just wondered how it performs on saltwater sand? I have been using an old Garrett XL500, Seahunter Pulse, detector a few times and have been happy with it. I've never used the GTI2500 on the beach.

My wife has a confrence to go to at the perdido beach resort in Feb. and I'm going to be hitting the beach with mine for the first time. I'm going to take the Ace also.
Just wandering if you where ever able to try out the 2500 on the beach? If so, how did it do.

I spent three days last week hunting the beaches of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. I live in the area and get to hunt this area quite a few times a year. I hunted the first day with my Tiger Shark. The next day I used my Sovereign GT.
The last day I hunted witrh my Garrett GTI 1500. The Garrett works quite well on the Beach. It has the Salt Elimination mode. I have used it in the wet sand and the dry sand. I have no problems with it. In fact The only ring I found those three days was with the Garrett. I hunt often on Dauphin Island , Al beach and the Garrett has preformed very well. I once found a very small childrens ring in the wet sand at about 10 inches. I also have had good luck using the larger 12" coil on my Garrett. This time of year those beaches are fairly well picked over. It will get much better after the Spring break. Good Luck. If you need any local knowledge I will be glad to help you.
