Last week, at the Outer Banks, I tested this before going into the water and it worked. Sometime after coming out of the water, when I turn it on and wave it over metal it doesn't beep. What could be causing this and how can this be fixed?

Could you have reprogrammed it ?

I guess that depends on what you mean by reprogramming. Is there a way to do a factor reset?

I have one with a pinpointer head, A 5 inch coil and a 8 inch coil. The heads are interchangeable I will check it later today and see. I do know a lot of other pp's can be programed Does your still detect metal with a light or vibration ?

It does not detect metal. I can turn it on/off.

What is PP?

Mine came with a coil (I'm guessing 5") and a pinpointer. I didn't see a 2nd coil.

PP stands for a pin pointer

PP stands for a pin pointer
I use the coil, not the pin pointer. It doesn't seem to detect metal anymore when I test it out.

Try the pinpointer tip. If it still doesn't work, then possibly the main body leaked water.

I'm thinking that water leaked in somehow.
