Has any one seen one of these before?

This looks like some type of fishing gear. It is 4 inches long. The swivel end looks like brass but isn't. The other end is hard steel.

Looks like an early coast lock style snap swivel used for fishing. Snap portion is bent; should be a little straighter so the hook end can catch the shank.
