Has something of yours utterly vanished?

Those are explainable though. Documented fact that dryers have the harmonic capability to creat mini black holes that rip through the space-time continuum. There is a dinosaur munching one your socks right now in an alternate timeline.

There is also another more sinister conspricy theory by sock manufacturing companies. I have seen the memos and they are not pretty. Once sock is made from fine cotton, while the other is made of a material that will desolve in water, thus leaving only one sock. Go figure, it's your choice :laughing9:

Any wrench, drill bit, or socket that is 7/16 inch. Why 7/16th? I don't know. I haven't been able to keep the 7/16 inch stuff. When I was a kid, I would use my dad's 7/16 inch wrench to fix my bike, put it back in the toolbox, and on the weekend the old man would be storming, searching and cursing looking for his 7/16 inch wrench...

I know there is something that has vanished around here but for the life of me can't remember what it was. :tongue3:

I lost my dignity in 1983.

Did find an empty gin bottle close by though.

Wait until you youngsters get up into your sixties. Everything disappears. Phone numbers, business cards, your car keys, your cane, your feet (stomache gets out over your belt and you can't see it or other things either!). Tools, hose washers, rare pictures of baseball players worth many $$$$$ (lost a Honus Wagner tobacco card and haven't found it yet)! Those are all things that disappear. Your dignity soon is gone after so many visits to the doctor and exams of your essential parts, coloscopy & prostate exams in particular! Your car disappears in the Wal-Mart parking lot all the time. If it's a junker you hope someone stole it, but dang, after an hour or so you always find it! Anything you just had a few minutes ago will disappear only to reappear in a place you know you didn't put it. Some kind of weird teletransportation that is kind of spooky I guess? Have you ever said to your significant other, "Well, I put it right there!", only to find it over yonder? How does it get there? It's a mystery. Everything I own disappears at one time or another. I often wonder if one day everyting will disappear all at once and I will wake up on the floor in a bare house. It could happen! M :help: nty

LOL Monty!! :laughing7:

I've lost so many phone numbers I can't even count them. :D
(Especially gals)

Since 4 years ago I had collected 10-20 # numbers to ladies... I still have one! :D :D :dontknow:
I don't have a clue where all the # went. ???

Just my patience. Everything else is still, mostly, here. My mind seems to take a vacation on occasion but otherwise all is well.....LOL

GIB my friend, that was Jon Bols Distilled Geneva Gin I presume? Nick named 'Ole square face'. trade Gin because of the square bottles.

Real de my friend, I had to stop sampling the spirits because of my medication. Mixed with alcohol I could be in line for the bone yard, so I do not indulge anymore. Sometimes I mooch a sip of a really ice cold beer or maybe a shot of scotch and soda. Either is nearly always fatal with my drugs! I have seen a rash of movie star OD's with this stuff too. Methadone! I take small doses to alleviate my chronic back pain. I wonder if I have "lost" my taste for a double shot of Johnny Walker red in a chilled tall cocktail glass with with soda to the rim. I actually prefer Johnny Red to Johnny Black or even a good single malt scotch. I just like the taste with soda. I guess my quitting was for the best however. It got to where good old Johnny Red and I were staying up late about 3 nights a week and getting up early was getting harder and harder. But now I don't drink or smoke mainly just to stay alive as long as I can. Some people want to go peacefully, but when it's my time I plan to go kicking and screaming! That is if I don't lose my mind ahead of time. Monty

Monty,

The object is to not arrive at heaven's gate a wealthy man in a well rested physically fit peaceful body; but to arrive frazzled, wore out 'n broke, while sliding up to Saint Peter sideways screaming, "Holy sheet, that was one hell of a ride!"

Just lost 2 teeth last week.
Haven't had a visit from the tooth fairy in years to get paid. Now it COSTS to lose teeth.
However, I've told a couple of knuckle heads over the years that me and the tooth fairy was gonna make 'em rich if they didn't blow off. :laughing7:

AU24K, I know what you mean. I use to be a pretty tough little hombre and was ready for a good tussle just about any time. But now I couldn't punch my way out of paper bag, probably due to my mis-spent youth. And that's why my best buddies now are Smith and Wesson. I've never had to call on those boys and I hope I never do. But I would not be able to tolerate a good butt whipping without major, permanent physical damage. And I try to avoid the possibility of any physical confrontation. But, way off subject. I'm done now. Monty

Well, as I said, I've only told that to a couple of knuckle heads. The rest of the time I become Jesse Owens. Last resort is to fall to the ground and scream like a school girl! :laughing7:

When I was about fifteen my dad gave me a bunch of Indian head pennies. But they just disappeared one day. I think my Mom stole them to by her stupid cigarettes.

Has no-one here ever heard of Quantum Physics?

I found a brassier in my place and had no idea where it came from.
That's my storey and I'm sticking to it.

Good thing I have never found other peoples socks.

Vanished things here are loved ones and retirement funds.

I have found a single sock with no mate in my laundry many times. I accused my wife of having an affair with a one legged man, but she denies it. Monty
