🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Heart Shaped Relic - I am stumped!

Found this iron object on a recent dig at a homestead from the 1880s to the 1920s. Some have thought a brand some have thought a type of horseshoe. Any help identifying the item is much appreciated!

I have found two of the exact same thing plus a star. Ive never been able to identify them and

Knock some of the rust off it and see if there's any markings

Take a soft brass brush to it and see what's hidden under the dirt and rust.

Maybe a trivet for a sad iron? If so, it would have to have enough legs so it could stand up and keep the hot iron off the table underneath.

By the looks of it could it be a type of animal shoe ? All my horse shoes have flanges on the outside to keep them in place . Is it magnetic ? Are there any nail slots in it ? I have no idea what type of animal foot it could go on

Possibly a small donkey shoe. Initially I was thinking this, still need more info.

Looks like it could be a belt buckle maybe. Cool.

Take a soft brass brush to it and see what's hidden under the dirt and rust.

Soak in apple cider vinegar amazing how much would come off but take it out as soon as it stops taking the corrosion off
