Help me date this bullet?

It's definitely old, just don't know how old. Has a little bit of oxidation to it also.

Without any dimensions or weight, it looks like a fairly modern 38 Special. When asking info ob bullets we need the diameter in thousands of an inch, and weight in grains, to ID

Pete, it was 6 inches deep, I don't know the diameter or anything but even a rough date wound be fine.

Looks like an old style .32 or .38 from the 30's or 40's due to the style of the groove in it. Without dimensions its hard to tell. Or it could be newer if someone had old bullet molds and were still using them.

Well it's been there for awhile because it has a bunch of white oxidation spots on it.

Use the 19th century bullet database. Fill in the blanks and you have a very good idea of your bullets age.

I don't think it's that old, but this is a great resource to get know what to expect when pulling out old ammo.

I'd say modern, I dig up my cast bullets every few months. They dull out quick depending on the conditions. You can still get modern moulds google ".357 round nose cast bullet"
