Area is middle of Turkey Near the ERCİYES mount .

I will waiting master comment .

Hello HunterTurk. While you are waiting for master comment, I just wanted to say you should have a good time once you do get a detector. With a 6000 year old civilization, Romans later on, proof of ancient settlement on Mount Erciyes, you should find lots of great stuff. Be sure to show it off here! Good luck

Possible some of the rocks were worked. Possible glyphs. Research is key. You will need to see who was there and when. What were the skills needed to make this. Why would someone mark a bunch of rocks up in the first place. I doubt a metal detector is going to help much, what you find will be modern or new trash. Try the dry creeks down below for artifact, you wont need a detector. Last has gold or silver been found there before? I would do some reading before I bough equipment.

I agree with the above post in part; for searching out a real treasure you wouldn't need a metal detector. Again, I suggested one simply to find the Roman (i.e. "stuff") and earlier that has proved to exist around that mountain. Sure you'll find new stuff, we all find new stuff, but you'll be detecting an area where far fewer people detect than what many countries are used to, and that will be fun.
p.s. rudimentary research states Mount Erciyes was occupied at one time by the Romans.

I have been to Turkey a few times, and there are a lot of ruins there but he had better get the right permission. I never seen one detector on any of the beaches, let alone Ancient sites.

Great looking area. Yes, it's too bad you can't use a detector. There are a lot of areas in the United States where you can't use them also and it keeps getting worse with every new law that gets written.

Merhaba, Turkey has really changed since I lived there as back in the 70`s. Back then it was illegal to even have a detector in the country.
