I'm headed to VA Beach tommorow and was wondering if there are any rules where you can and cant detect as well as anything like high/low tide lines or times when you can detect. Any help or info is appreciated. Thanks everyone and have a great weekend!

The only true rule you need to know is not to detect in front of Max. Aside from that, don't trip on the girls sunning themselves or wave your coil over their hand to see it the detector works unless your planning on buying them dinner. I know this isn't what you meant, but I thought it would be good to know.

I haven't had any problems........normal rules apply of staying East of the dunes, etc. Last Oct/Nov I had some nice finds (coins..no rings... >

(because there weren't too many people on the beach then). As such, I hit everything I could all the way from 82nd down to 5th....with most of the finds around 30th & 24th. Prior times that I had been there, parking was a bear! Fall/Winter time...no problem with parking..........of course, no restaurants open either...bummer.

Good luck. I was thinking about hitting VA Beach this weekend....but have decided to hold off until after the holiday....when some of the people go back to a work week. So.......leave some goodies for me....

Oh...I did try a small beach near the John Lesner Bridge...around Lynnhaven Inlet. Modest finds, but nice scenery... ::)

Hey Borninok, have you ever checked around Lake Jackson or Colonial Beach?? I see you live right near me, I'm in Lake Ridge near the stadium. By the way, congrads on the retirement! I have another 21 years

Haven't checked out either one. I just figured that Lake Jackson would be off limits, just like Lake Manassas. Seems like around this area it's a NO/NO except at the beaches. Would like to hit Colonial Beach though. And definitely would like to hit Va Beach again. With gas being high, maybe we can tag team at one of the places. If you find that Lake Jackson is a go, let me know, ok? I've been booted out of so many parks...

....that I feel like I'm a taxpayer..........LOL
