I went back to the creek and found a 1943 canteen. It was half a foot down. Oh and this pot lid Istill have to clean it.

Congrats on another cool recovery.
Need to ask, was it above or below from where you found the banner recovery?
Train of thought this is a WWII Canteen, the other was civil war era.
I'd head in that direction sir.

Hey pepper it was 4 feet from the CW flask but was deeper because way heavier

Nice canteen, I remember back when I was a little kid they had them for sale at the militery surplus stores for a few dollars, wish I had bought more stuff from those places when they still existed.
 
You can bet there was military action near there.
