You could use scotch bright. People think way to complicated. Think inside the box.

Right njnp and I bet scrub pad might work too

i got a free red scotch brite sponge at south jersey ice cream show ahaha

You can run all that stuff over your pan to season it. But i think you need to get some season. I'm not a vet by any means. But i think the experience you get by practicing with your pan will eventually wear all the doubt out of it. It took me a long time to get any gold but I'm kinda glad for that. Just being out in the area of prospect panning and not finding anything would be worth more than figuring out how to take the oils off the pan. Just my opinion though. I hope you find tons of gold. Good luck!

Been prospecting over 10 years, only in last two have I truly become confident in my panning technique.

I practiced for a long time wit h lead shots. Now I run a sample pan in 1 minute or less nothing but black sand. But I finally feel really comfortable

I gained a lot of confidence when i saw the gold in my sluice and panned the cons. Seeing the gold after working the pan for a while helped me see first hand how gold settles. Not using a safety pan either makes me paranoid lol. I do not recommend it. But i work with what i got. I should probably buy another pan...

i tried 100 grit omg i think it will catch even the smallest piece
