history from the soil..CW lead and a silver spoon

Got 3 days of hunting in with the Teknetics G2. Went to a local park and hunted the woods for a few hours..found a couple of wheaties but also a sterling spoon. Then headed south for the weekend and again hit the CW picket post I have been working for the past 6 months. All the finds were deep and many hidden in iron. The G2 does an incredible job pulling these relics from out of the ground. I have owned many detectors over 30 years...this is without a doubt my favorite ever!

Nice spoon & lead SP. That site still has relics to give. Is that the cut off top of a .58 cal. bullet to the right of the nail in the second pic? WTG, Quindy.

Yes, I belive so. If you look at the second item below it it looks like the bottom of the minie. They were found about 20 feet away from each other. The G2 would be the perfect detector if it could get just another 2-3 inches of depth. I would love to see what a F75 LTD could pull out of this pasture.

It is likely that the soldier was attempting to carve out a nipple protector. I dug one just like it in a CS camp about 10 days ago but didn't post it. It's on the top row, second from the left. The soldier just didn't hollow out the base enough to accommodate the size of the nipple. HH, Quindy.
