it was actually an old dump by the river from the late 1800's

didnt stay out long today got wet and my feet felt like blocks of ice but did manage to find a few things.got a strap side ,another marble,herbert gould hutch,and,a clear and an amber inkwell

That's a very attractive hutch!

Hi Jim, that's the harder to find of the two Gould hutches, he took over the building where Pfannebecker was in 1897. As you can see he used the same kind of mold and just had it reworked for his needs, he went out of business in 1901. You'll also see them with a large G in the middle just like the P's found on the Pfannebeckers...

just a few things today

no hutches today but did find some good stuff.i think the marble is a rare german swirl,found another torpedo,the vasoline is made by cheesebrough from new york,the taller amber has no markings,the clear apothacary has a small crack and unfortunatly the the little crock as you can see was chipped thanks for looking

I think that crock is a child's chamber pot, hope you stayed warm my friend...

I think you need to get a tent cut out bottom get you a heater n a light, and work at it a little longer I need the bottle fix, man you got one heck of a spot.

rain delay

rained alot so river is way up going down in a little while to see if dig site is accessable but for now here are some of the non-bottle stuff found there

cleaning surprise

found this lid thing a while back at the dig site and today decided to clean it and was surprised to find this beautiful spartan relief on the one side.enjoy the pics (river still to high to dig)

broken dreams

well got out to dig today but with the river still way up i was bailing water out of the hole as fast as i was digging found a lot broke but did find an indian trade bead an ink well and a nice jar i.m going to use as a vase,and the crock lid (i'm hoping the crock is somewhere in the hole and in just as good condition)i think i'll wait a few more days for the water to go down before i dig again thanks for looking
