So I found a half dollar a week or so ago covered in grease... I searched the same area since it has thawed out a lot since then... I got a hell of a tone and dug down 5" to find this beauty!!!

How can a coin from 2001 be 5" down?
I'm sure many variables play a role in the resting place of any object, coin is indeed heavier then most clad, rain, soil, etc. I often wonder just the opposite, how can these pre 1800 coins be so shallow. But again many variables.
