How can this seller sale and ship for this amount?

I certainly have seen post on here about people mailing items media mail that re not eligable. And things don't just slip by occasionally, abuse is rampant. Especcially when large shippers drop off large loads. The post office does not check each item, they trust the honesty of the shippers. I have spoken numerous times with clerks at various post offices, and one of the most abused is media mail, followed by people under weighing packages. With a 13 ounce label on a package that weighs over 1 lb. If a shipper is caught, then they will pay more attention, but until a shipper is caught, most of the items just get delivered.

this has to be the dumbest thread I ever saw ( and I've seen some doozies)

I guess I should have titled the thread: "Is it okay to rip off the post office."

deserdog, if it rains a lot do you worry that the clouds get too dry?

if you catch a big bass, do you worry that it was too big?

when you order bubble wrap do you count the bubbles to see if you got too many?

when drinking a beer, do you measure the beer first to see that it is exactly 12 ounces?

LOL @ this thread overall. But, regarding posts about people abusing media mail... I have literally never seen that topic discussed on this site before. I wish I had seen that thread because I would have called them out on it.

I was mistaken about it being discussed here. But it has been dicussed at length on Ebay and Etsy forums. I guess people think it is ok to cheat the post office as long as they get cheap shipping. If I would have been home when the bubble wrap was delivered and know what the PM Cubic .20 meant, I would have returned to sender. To me it is never okay to cheat the post office. But I guess a lot here think it is just fine.

have no fear the P.O. will Increase their Rates again ! & again ! And Again !
& their Bank accounts will Rise again ! & again ! And Again ! :icon_thumright:

Next time, have the seller insure the package and see what it costs - LOL!

The literally just did AGAIN. In mid January, I believe.

they probably did.

I buy 2 Stamps a Month to pay Bills I can't pay online,
But don't pay close attention to Prices.
I just know Increases , Other then Last year, were an annual thing
every time they cry Poverty

I just looked it up, Jan. 22nd. UPS is starting to look better and better for parcels.

The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) will implement new postage rates for several mailing and shipping products on Sunday, January 22, 2017.

do it, if you get money I take back everything I said

I am glad you aren't on my trail, you are one determined son of a gun

I jsut don't like people ripping off the Post Office becasue we all pay for it. And just out of curiosity, I checked some of the sellers other lsitings. A 700" roll of bubble wrap, priority from OH to CA $7.95. 20 cubic feet of packing peanuts priority $10.95. Dollar to a donut if some in CA bought one of these items, priority shipping, it would show up with a PM cubic shipping label. And I did not even choose priority, just UPS ground. so it must be cheaper for them to misuse one of the PM cubic labels then it is to use UPS.

I was just doing a little research, cheating the post office is a major problem. And shippers who do it intentionlly can go to jail:
EBay Seller Admits Cheating Postal Service Out of Thousands - Coronado, CA Patch

"Pasic altered the postage labels, however, to conceal that he had paid only one cent in postage when a larger amount was actually owed, prosecutors said."

Apples & oranges, this guy obviously took it to extremes, tampered with/illegally altered labels and is rightfully being prosecuted.

Bubble guy must have some lax clerks or some inside help, everything I have ever taken in not in a flat rate box is measured and weighed.
