In the past it has been spread out here and there. What about one large dump at one spot. Any ideas? Recommendation's? Or just keep doing what I am doing. There have been some skunks but nothing to complain about.

I do the $350-650 range

too large of a dump gets suspicious... :tongue3: but seriously they say anything over $500 is pushing it, and its a common curtesy to the workers to not have to count more then $500 worth...

I dump as much at retail, for gas and groceries as I possibly can. This takes the pressure off my bank dumping.

Some days, I can spend $100 in halves.

The way I see it, the fewer bags I make the tellers change, the better off I am!

I generally dump 1-2 boxes worth at a time. I spread it out though because I've got about 10 boxes a week to dump. I've been re-rolling 4 boxes and dumping the rest in machines.

I'm surprised by some of the veteran responses. New hunters can be timid and don't want to step on any toes. It is understandable. When I dumped on a weekly basis, I would dump 6-8k at a single stop. For the past year, I've gotten too bored with the dump process. I now only do it once a month. I still keep my limit to no more than 8k per stop. My dump day will require 4 to 5 stops. Under 8k doesn't trigger any reporting. Coin for cash.

Wow the last response is scary. That is a lot of coin. Hope you don't mark the coins in red cause I got your dumps. Thank you for all the info. I will hit the machines soon and drop off a couple boxes here and there to even the keel. The tellers here do not unwrap the boxes they just have to deal with the bags.

I dump anywhere from $500-$750 a day. I've never done more than $750 because I only get a box to a box and a half a day.

My bank has a counter that I use and bring them the receipt so they don't care how much I dump. They are all nice to me every time I come in so I'm not too worried about dumping too much.

I don't think I would dump more than 2 boxes though.

It doesn't matter as long as you have a great relationship with your dump bank.. some dump banks are really cool. My favorite one that I go to is 2 cities away. They've told me that I can dump as much as I want. They just take the rolls out of the boxes and put them into bags to ship out. They gave me some plastic bags and they trust me now to put them in there now before even bringing them in. They don't even count the rolls. They take my word for it and give me cash on the spot. Great service.

I usually dump $1000 at a time. As I pick up 2 boxes of half from 3 different banks a week.....Matt

My dump bank is my personal bank and is awesome! I dump 2k a week in halves and 1k in dimes , sometimes more , sometimes a bit less. All they request is that I bring it in early and then they run it through the machine as they have time during the day. They call me when done with the total to make sure it matches up with what I thought it should be and thats that. donuts and chocolate once a week and they are thrilled. ( I also ok'd it with the bank manager to make sure the tellars wouldnt catch heat)

The most I have ever dumped is $750. My dump bank has a machine and I bring the receipt up to the teller. I have been there when the container, (The machine does not use bags) has filled up. All coins are mixed together in a approx. two foot square metal container on wheels. They open the machine and pull the trolley away and replace it with a new one. This is just a guess but I think the trolley could hold over 20 boxes of halves if it started empty.

Just learned my dump bag gives me bags that hold $1k in halves, and if I don't reroll they don't have to count. They will put my account # on the bag and ship them to Brinks if they are short they will just charge my account. One bag to each of two branches a week for now. Just hope I don't have any problems with their counts, teller said they will just weigh them. ???

There isn't an answer to this question. All banks are different. What would be acceptable at one may be unacceptable at another. Even getting clearance from the manager ahead of time does not guarantee that things won't change. Different branches of the same bank can have different rules. When I first began to CRH I lost a dump bank. Before opening my account, I honestly told the manager what I do and that I wanted to run $500-$1000 a week in halves through their coin counter. She said, "No problem." Well, about 2-3 months after me dumping around $500 a week there, I was told I could no longer bring in coins. Another dump bank of mine has told me on numerous occasions that I can bring in as much coin as I want, as often as I want. I've been dumping at least $1000 a week there for several months and so far they have been true to their word and I have had no problems whatsoever.

I will normally dump under $500 at one back, it's good to have 3 or 4 dump banks. That way you can dump at all of them about once a week. That's just me though. I think dumping too much is going to raise some eyebrows, or irritate some workers.

I prefer to keep the tellers happy and always spread the dumps. I do $80 to 300 depending on what bank im at

This is a thread to learn from.

I said it before and I'll say it again. You can get boxes anywhere but learning how to dump is the key to this game. My largest dump has been 10k. I routinely dump 8-10 per week no problem. The bank manager gave my son a Christmas gift last year.

My dump bank has a machine that I treat like it a newborn. I also treat the the staff well. They all know me by 1st name and I know them by 1st name.

Oh and I never ever dump during a busy time. Not cool

My dump bank uses the same system (or at least something similar). Cummins or Siemens or something like that is the brand name on the ones I use. If I remember correctly, when empty they hold around $450 in pennies (I know because I've done it). You could probably figure out the volume of halves based on that.

My biggest dump for volume was just under $1000 in pennies and like $100 in nickels. Filled up the square metal container on wheels twice. They just asked that the next time I have that much to call them in advance so they will make sure to have enough containers on hand.

I usually try to limit my dumps to what I can carry into the bank in one trip (2 large canvas bags full, $ value is not an issue....volume/weight is) unless I am at a branch that I rarely go to in which case I may go back to the car a couple times if needed.

I normally dump at least 1 box per week, and always ask if they can handle more, if they say yes, I give them 1 or 2 more, if they say not this week, I say OK and drop them off at another branch. I also give them a box of cookies or candy ever month as a "thank you" for doing what they do.
