How much was too much?

When my brother was a Freshman in collage, his roommate chugged a 5th of rum. After my brother called an ambulance and got his roommate hauled to the hospital, the Dr. told my bro if he hadn't called, his roommate would have died. I guess that was too much.

When I was a teenager I had a drinking contest and drank a liter of Jim Beam in 17 mins, I wasn't even drunk when I first finished it and was ready to go back for more until it hit me. I probably weighed about 125lbs back then as well but drank everyday back then and don't drink at all anymore.

all i can tell you is that southern comfort is the projection vomiting devils drink.....hands down

Don't remember the Cisco, but the rest of those were all standard issue back in high school.

I never really got into the cheap ones while doing stints in the States, my tastes were more refined I think.:icon_scratch: Then again I don't recall some of the binges like two weeks in a motel room in FL on bathtub crank. For some odd reason that just doesn't sound at all good for the brain cells.

Was celebrating buying a /76 Thunderbird that was used but a sweet touring ride. I went down to Corpus Cristi TX to pick up the car, and to party. The bar had these really cool glasses of a nude embossed that a person got for free if you ordered 6oz of booze. Buddy didn't drink a whole lot but the next afternoon when going to the hospital with alcohol poisoning I cleaned out 14 glasses out of the car. Problem was I could pour light rum down like water, it's just the body that got in the way.

What's the word? Thunderbird! What's the price? Fifty twice! One swaller of that was waaaay too much.

It's amazing that they could make such bad tasting stuff.
Always wondered about the crap that they made in the colonial days right up to the late 19th century. Black shoe polish was used in a few brews that was sold for consumption.

So I dated this girl back in the 90's and she broke my heart. I dated her again in 2012 and she broke my heart. Guess what? She wants to date me again and Im considering it...SO this is "how much is too much".

Here's what you do in that situation. Sound advice from Ronnie Van Zant (especially the last verse):

"One More Time"

How can you stand there smilin'
After all you've done
You know it seems to make you happy
When you've hurt someone
Twice before you fooled me
With your deceivin' and lyin'
Come in and close the door
One more time, one more time

Yeah you've been gone so long
No one knows where
And you say that you still love me
Then show me you care
'Cause you got what it takes sweet mama
To make a man feel fine
So I'll take the word of a liar
One more time, one more time

Girl you've got me hungry
Losin' my mind
I know I'm playin' with fire
Get burned everytime
Yes I'm a fool for you baby I can't deny
But I got to have your sweet love
One more time, one more time

Girl you've got me hungry
Losin' my mind
I know I'm playin' with fire
I get burned everytime
Yes I'm a fool for you mama I can't deny
But I got to have your sweet love
One more time, one more time

Yes I'm her fool once more
I can read her brown eyes
But when the rooster crows tomorrow
Well its her turn to cry
I'm headed down that old road
She lost her free ride
So tonight I'll take what I paid for
One more time, one more time
One more time

Here's the song, which is on "Street Survivors". One of my favorite songs by them, but they never play it live.

How about Mad Dog 20/20 lmao

Ugh...RJC it's probably been 30+ years since any MD 20/20 has passed my lips...and I can still taste that stuff going both directions. Don't forget those Sun Country wine coolers that came in a convenient 2 liter bottle. Ddf

8 beers and three fourths of a fifth of rum (in 2 hours) the 1st night we deployed to Puerto Rico back in 1978 for training support to the PR NG. I almost pulled a Jimmy Hendrix if not for my buddies. Needless to say I was given "quarters" (the day off) the next day due to the biggest hangover I ever had.

In Western Ohio where I am from, TJ Swan's Easy Nights or Lambrusco were the wines of choice. We also drank a lot of premixed Screwdriver or Cherry Vodka. Or what ever someone could sneak out of their Dad's liquor cabinet.

My brother's generation, drank a lot of Boone's Farm.

21 blue motorcycles and their sidecars celebrating a girlfriends birthday one evening.
She thought it was funny steering the truck the following early morning while I puked.
I thought it was funnier that afternoon seeing where she " painted" the wall blueish in her sleep.
Dumb kids......

I once spent a minute and a half reading bigwavedaves thread--- too much

Buddy and myself had a couple of gals out for a party. It was agreed that drink of choice was Baby Duck in pop bottle sizes. So we flipped and I lost for buying the booze. It wasn't the money it was the fact that somebody had to buy this embarrassing booze.
Returning to the car it was then decided that everyone changed their minds and wanted beer. Screw that I wasn't going back in there to return 32 bottles of that crap. I'll drink it myself, proudly consumed 28 bottles over the course of the evening, woke up in my Sheppard dog house. Back to the hospital with a slight chance of alcohol poisoning.

Never heard of those wines before and anything called "Easy nights" just sounds like a bad morning after. Never was into premixed drinks, it seemed that beer was the trend for years until the taste buds liked this over ice.

I'm thinking the same theme is in this pic. "All bad":tongue3:

You left out Andre Previn Cold Duck and Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill.

For me a fifth of Southern Comfort first night home from deployment to South East Asia during Nam was too much, can't stand to even smell a bottle cap from it now.
