Anyone out there know how old or what century this Axe and Hammer were from?
The both look antique especially the axe. Any info would be great!
I tested it with a magnet and it does stick to both.

That is awesome, hands down!

The hammer is actually an adze. Maybe coopers {barrel makers} adze.

Both look like they were cast and not hand forged. Probably after 1900. Very Nice Pair!

Hammer is an adz...for hollowing out bowls, chair seats, log canoes, and the like...

Can't commit to age or date...Look European tho...maybe trade tools...

These are still made today, although with flatter cutting edges...the blunt end could be used for a hammer similar to the blunt end of an ax...

Assume these are not found based on the metal finish...garage sale? Or hand-me-down?

thats cool, first time ive seen that shape not all rusted up.thanks for sharing.oh wait theres two first time ive seen the other one.

I found them both at a estate/garage sale. There were books at this sale about ship building so this being used for log canoes makes sense. Glad to find out that the hammer is a coopers adze. I especially like the axe but I wish I had more info on it. It looks like a battle axe, the kind used in medieval times, but I know it's not that old. Lol.. Thank you everyone for your help!

Very lovely tools, I am particularly jealous of the axe. What a gorgeous piece.
