This was a solo 5.5 hour hunt & my last chance at a Saxon Sceat this year. Wasn't to be...Plus my silver streak is now over.:sadsmiley:

But I had a few interesting finds;

Livery Button
Jetton
GNR Button (Great Northern Railway)
17th C Buckle
Broken Tudor Clothes Fastener
Knights of the Holy Sepulchre Badge
Medieval Horse Harness Pendant Hanger
A rare find - Stamped triangular Scales Balance Tray for weighing medieval gold coins! (Only had 1 other)

Great set of finds but that scale tray is the winner. That's a very cool find Cru

I scrolled right down to see if a Sceat turned up without even reading... You still have the chance for a random loss. Wish you luck!
The balance tray is interesting, i know Tumbrels to test coin weight, is the balance tray meant for use in a steelyard?

Congrats! I always enjoy your posts. Learn something every time!

I wouldn't be disappointed; that was a great hunt! :notworthy:

Just shows no site is to be ignored as a hunted out site, nice bunch of finds.

It's hard to keep a good site down but after about 12 years of gridding the same area, it's normally more productive to move on. This Site has only been gridded for about 6-7 years, but we may only have about 2 years before its sold for housing.
