Been awhile since I made a post on todays finds, I took the plunge and got this new Explorer SE and have been paying my dues on learning this beast. After a few weeks of struggling along, I think I have got the feel of her and decided to head back to an old church site that I and many others have hunted before. The church has not got alot of yard left since they have added on to the building through the years and many things have changed. I knew it would'nt take long to detect this spot so in a few minutes of swinging I got my first deep signal of the evening and even though the digging was very tough due to the dry weather I managed to get down deep enough to pull a very nice 1890 Indianhead! I was thrilled with this and almost decided to leave right then, but I had a bit more yard left so I remained and good thing as not much further I got a deep silver tone and was rewarded with a great 1942 Merc, both coins are in fantastic condition and both helped bolster my confidence with the Explorer. I hope this is just the start of some great finds with a wonderful machine

Nice goin Jack. Were these with the Pro coil or do you still have the other coil still on? How deep was the injun? Talk to you real soon!

Hwy Wallhanger, the injun was about 7 inches down and am still waiting on the procoil :(

Way to go Jack! Glad the Explorer is working out for you (I never had any doubt). Congrats on the Injun & the Merc! The old finds will start pouring out of the ground now...and I will be looking forward to reading your posts! The new coil will seek out even more of those oldies!

We wouldn't survive without those good ole
"hunted out" sites!!!

LOL - Nor would I!!!

Slipperyjack,
I got my Explorer SE about 3 months ago. I used a White's XLT before. The SE gets deeper signals. After you get more experience with the machine you will find a lot of good stuff. Congrats on the coins. What settings do you use?
