had a new car. Got a virus hidden as microsoft. Sometimes i feel like im gonna die at the whippin post,die at the whippin post, good lord i feel like im dying. Beware of Facebook leave it alone. :angry4:

I use AVG for virus protection, it does automatic updates, I also have a copy of PC doctor and a couple other programs for fixing Trojans. I am on Facebook, so far I have not picked up any nasty bugs I couldn't easily fix, but I also took 14 months of PC schooling after being laid off while I was on Workman's comp insurance for an on the job injury and I have been playing with computers for over 20 years my first PC was the Tandy 1000, so while I am not an expert I am not a novice either.

"Most", nope while true there are some there, long ways from most......They come from a lot of places some places you would never think of......My brother-in-law got an email from the IRS telling him there was a problem with his 2010 tax return and the attached file listed the problem and the solutions available to him to correct the the problem before being assessed any fines............Yes it was a virus, IRS does not use emails....

There are more on Malicious Web pages than any where else.... Web sites you find while surfing contain virus and trajans more than porn sites......I have yet to pick one up on a porn aaahhhh adult video site, but have picked more than a few on web pages..... One trojan from a website took me close to 8 hours to get rid of....

The fix was to go into msconfig, then the start up folder and delete the startup file for the trojan, problem was you had to do it after a reboot and before the computer finished booting up so it was a race, half way through the boot up the trojan file kicked in and you could do nothing then but reboot and to make matters worse each time you booted up the startup file it was in a different location in the startup folder in msconfig. I got that trojan from a webpage Google pulled up while doing a search.

Tough way to try to do that.

Next time press the "F8" key and go into safe mode and remove it, as it probably won't start in safe mode.

I tried it in safe mode, it was the same.......... I had to use my laptop to search for the fix, it was a nasty one, worst one I have ran into........
